Vandals target Bus Shelters


Thunder Bay Police report that over the weekend 17 City Bus Shelters were damaged. The shelters that were damaged were located throughout the city.  At this time there does not appear any motive for these crimes.  The damage done will cost the tax payers of the City thousands of dollars to repair these shelters.

Missing Person

On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, the TPS requested the assistance of the public locating a missing girl.

Mariam Makhniashvili, 17, was last seen on Monday, September 14, 2009, at 8:30 a.m., in the Bathurst Street/Eglinton Avenue West area.

Police have released security camera footage and still images which feature Mariam and her brother. They were taken at the north entrance to Union Station, at 11:15 a.m., on Sunday, September 13, 2009. Mariam and her brother were on their way to Marilyn Bell Park to assist, as volunteers with a YMCA program associated with Dragon Boat races.
