Fundraising Programs
Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization. We depend on the support of the community to help our program function. Whether supporting us through donations or buying a ticket on one of our many raffles the people of Thunder Bay District have always been strong advocates or our program.
Crime Stoppers does not rely on any government funding to run the day-to-day operations of the program. Financial assistance comes in many other forms:
- Donations - both from citizens and businesses
- Raffles
- Explorer Maps sales
- Stocked Lakes Booklets sales
- Court ordered donations (i.e. someone convicted of a crime is ordered by a judge or justice of the peace to donate money, in essence their fine, to Crime Stoppers.)
Stocked Lakes Booklets
Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers has also teamed up with the Ministry of Natural Resources on another idea that's sure to be a hit with anglers and people who love the outdoors.Explorer Maps
One of the most unique fundraising ideas Thunder Bay District Crime Stoppers has come up with is a set of Explorer Maps. This set of 10 maps contains some of the most up-to-date information on road locations, snowmobile trails, canoe routes, private property, wildlife sanctuaries, parks, lakes and fish species in those lakes, plus many other details.
