Male assaulted on city south side

Thunder Bay Police assisted an unconscious male found in a snow bank just before 5:00 am this morning.

A concerned citizen called police to report an unconscious male lying in snow bank on the corner of Limbrick Street and University Drive.   The male eventually stated that he had been assaulted and an Ambulance attended to transport the male to Thunder Bay Regional Hospital for medical attention. 

The victim was intoxicated and was not able to provide police with descriptors of the persons involved in this incident.  A van was reported to have stopped by the male and then left the area before police arrived.  No further descriptors of the van are available.

The victim will be released from the hospital today and the investigation continues.
